A catch up and a fun event coming up!

Did “actual” summer fly by or what?  Geez it seems like the kiddos just got out of school and now they are back at it again!  It is like warp speed!  The nice thing about being in the bay area is that our best weather is yet to come with two full months of summer in front of us.  That makes going back to school a bit easier to deal with.  My oldest daughter has a busy semester ahead of her as she begins the process of applying to college.  She has honed in on several schools that she would like to go to and we will keep it at that.  It is quite the process these days!  And that would require an entire blog post of its own and I won’t go there. 😉

First and foremost…Kim, from Northern Cal Style, and I are hosting another fun shopping event at Trina Turk in Burlingame on Saturday, September 9th from 10-1:30.  Please stop by and say hi!  You will receive 25% off your purchase!!  Trina has so many beautiful pieces in for fall, you must come in and check out her unique collection.  Bring a friend and make it a girls day!

Here are a few things that I’m liking and thinking about these days…….

Loving these cute slip ons from Vince!

And they are on major sale right now and they come in two colors. Woo hoo!

I have these platform slip ons in black and now I’m getting a pair in tan!  A great slip on that is so comfortable and cute and several of the colors are on sale!  I’ve done some serious walking in these shoes and they don’t disappoint – and my teens like them, which is amazing!

I’m in love with these shoes from Trina!  What a beautiful shoe for fall!

Love love loving these jeans from Madewell and they are on sale!!   They have been on heavy repeat all summer long!  I’ve mentioned Madewell in a few other posts, but if you are looking for a good pair of jeans you need to check out their selection.  From high rise, to low rise, they have you covered for a great price and fit!

Yes, I’m still loving My Articles of Society jeans from Nordstrom, but these are right up there!

Looking for a super cute and stylish jacket for fall.  This  suede jacket, from Athleta, is the perfect coat to take off the chill and keep you looking chic all winter long!  I bought the cutest pink/blush leather jacket from Athleta this past spring.  They are knocking it out of the park for great looking jackets!

Loving this beautiful green top from Anthropologie!

Another fun shirt from Anthropologie. Those sleeves!!

Okay, so for a few light and fluffy items on my mind…

Have you ever used “Google trips” for trip planning?  It is a free app that keeps track of all of your trip details in one place!  No more digging through your old emails, now you can have everything in one place.  It will keep track of your fight info and your search data.  I have not tried it yet, but I plan to very soon!  Here is some info about it…Google trips.

Have you heard about LiLou the pig?  This cute little pig is the world’s first therapy airport pig!  Supposedly she cruises around the SFO airport terminals during busy travel times, with her trainer, helping weary travelers de-stress a bit!   You can read about LiLou here.

Looking for a special place to stay and dine for an upcoming anniversary or birthday?  This lovely inn and restaurant in Healdsburg, Single Thread, looks like just the place for a special occasion.  I wonder if the hubby reads my blog? 😉

Are you planning to be in Orange County anytime soon?  I was at Disneyland this summer for a dance competition and if you are looking to get away from the Disney dining scene like we were, here is a great option in Anaheim.  The Anaheim Packing House is quite similar to the Oxbow Market in Napa and similar to the Ferry Building in SF.  It offers a variety of different dining options under one roof for a variety of different palates.

Looking for a good rose for the upcoming heat wave?  My neighbor recently invited me over for a catch up session and we enjoyed this delicious rose!  So fresh and fruity and what a great price point!  Don’t let the price steer you away……it is very good!

Stay tuned for a post about our summer travels to NYC and Bermuda. And find out what this look was all about!  Something interesting happened!

How is your back to school routine going?

How were your summer travels?

Hope to see you next weekend in Burlingame!

Thanks for stopping by to say hi!!

  2. Hi!!! I can’t wait to hear about your summer travels!
Which Madewell jeans do you like? I’m in the market for flattering jeans that don’t show my panties in the back when I bend over!!!!
Blog request: how in the world do you pack for trips in a carry-on bag? I’m heading out for 3 weeks in Europe with a ton of luggage …I can’t go on a weekend trip without a big bag! What are your secrets?
    😘 miss you

    • Hi Cindy, I like the “cali demi boot” jeans from Madewell. Good luck…I hope you like them! I find them very comfortable and flattering.
As far as packing for a long trip, I definitely have several pieces on repeat likes dresses and skirts. So easy to wear those pieces several times over. And I normally do a load of wash half way through my trip…that is key! The last thing I want to do is lug a big suitcase around. Sometimes I am amazed at all of the things I can fit into an overhead size suitcase. As long as you don’t mind having some pieces on repeat, you will be fine. I can’t wait to hear about your three week adventure!
      Miss you!!
