Crazy for burgundy!

Are you loving all of the burgundy that is in season right now?  I don’t think you can walk into a store without seeing some variety of this shade somewhere.

I have not been able to resist the flannel/plaid shirts that are out in abundance this season so when I spotted this burgundy shirt I knew I had to add it to my fall wardrobe.  This cute flannel and army green vest were purchased at Banana Republic.  A tad too warm to wear a vest in the bay area right now, but since it was recently 40% off, I decided it would be foolish not to buy it for winter! 😉 Version 4

This layered silk shirt has been on constant rotation since I bought it a few weeks ago.  Perfect piece to transition from summer to fall.  Very lightweight and perfect for bay area fall temperatures.  This black leather fringe necklace has been my go to necklace as it looks great with just about everything.  The blouse and the necklace were both purchased at Banana Republic.  I’m a big Banana fan and I buy a lot of clothes from them……great price point and they have the best sales!!

This burgundy blouse is quite similar to the one above, but has a slightly longer sleeve and has cross back styling on the back side.

The black purse I am carrying I recently found at the Kate Spade outlet for 70% off at the San Francisco  Premium Outlets, previously known as the Livermore Premium Outlets.  I am not normally a designer handbag person at all, but this bag was just too good to pass up.  Blame this purchase on my teen daughter who convinced me to take a stroll around the store!  Much to my surprise I found a great bag that I will use for many years to come for a fabulous price!  If you live in the bay area you need to make a trip to this outlet mall right away…..seriously the best outlet mall I have ever been to!

I love a warm and cozy sweater with a tie waist (waist cincher, anyone) and recently spotted this piece at the Gap.  It is so comfortable and the big pockets are a major bonus in my book, and they are a generous size so you can actually put something in the pockets.  I dislike small impractical pockets…..just give me a real pocket, please, thank you!

Version 2

I’m wearing a pair of Sam Edelman boots in black leather and suede that I scored at TJ Maxx for $100!!!  Nobody was buying boots back in early August when I spotted these on a 95 degree day.

Wearing my favorite Sam Edelman booties.  I LOVE Sam Edelman shoes in case you haven’t noticed!

Always comfortable, always stylish, and always at a good price.

This burgundy-plum colored shirt is a basic cotton boat neck tee that I found at the Gap for $15!  It will make for a great layering piece in the winter and a simple tee that will get worn over and over again with jeans on more casual days.

Are you wearing burgundy this fall?

Where have you been finding your favorite fall pieces?

All pictures from this post were taken at the Mosaic Stairs and the Secret Garden Stairs in San Francisco. I highly recommend a visit to both staircases, and to the many other staircases throughout beautiful San Francisco.

  1. Thank you April for showing burgandy with army green. I purchased a burgandy shirt a few weeks ago and never thought about wearing it with army green pants. Thank you for expanding my color horizons:). xoxo

My daughter has been wearing Sam Edleman flats for years b/c they are the only ones she deems “comfy”, but I must give them a try. You look gorgeous in these colors! 5. Oh my. You look so lovely in burgundy! I’ve tried wearing it before but for some reason I’m never happy with how I look in the color. I’ve heard it’s a hot color for this fall season, but I’ll have to pass on it unfortunately. Love the way you are wearing the shirt in the booties photo. What a great location for your photo shoot! xo
