Crazy for a Utility Vest & More!

I recently made a long overdue trip to Target.  I should seriously give myself an award for staying away for more than a few months….good job April!  My main reason for going was to check out the Marimekko clothing line.  The price point was great compared to the actual Marimekko stores, but the quality just didn’t seem to be there for me.  Their bedding and home accessories are certainly fun and are something I would consider if I was looking to add some whimsical pieces to the family room or kids rooms.

Well, no trip to Target would be successful if I didn’t find something, right?!  I’ve been on the hunt for a utility vest for the last few months and was thrilled when I spotted this lightweight piece.

For $30 this was a good find for sure.

Pairing the vest with a new favorite denim shirt from Abercrombie.  I know what you are thinking, but I shop everywhere and when I find something cute and comfortable, I don’t mind where it is from. 😉

Here is the full version of this cute shirt.  I’ve been loving these lace up shirts this season and found something similar at Anthropologie recently.  What are you thinking of the denim on denim look that she is wearing?  I think it is growing on me.

A longer version of the utility vest but this one is referred to as a trench.  I’m wearing the vest with my favorite striped shirt from Zara and my favorite pair of spring shoes from Josef Seibel.  These shoes are so comfortable that I’m wearing them all the time!  They are just under 3″ making them practical enough for running around town without tripping.  I have to say that when I find something I love I tend to wear it to death.  Expect to see me in these shoes a lot!

I like it worn with a short sleeve shirt as well.  A nice option for summer.

  1. Darling! I love the longer utility vest and the shoes are great too! Thanks for the fun post Ms. B – better than looking at a magazine :))

    • Thanks Bita! xo I got the idea from the cute one you wear frequently! The long one was a good find!

  2. April, Love your vest- the long and short. I also bought one at Gap, very similar to yours. Of course my husband said I look like I was going fly fishing. LOL! The long one is very cool. I bought a Marimekko sleeveless dress in a black and white pattern from Target the first day online. I actually like it, but it was $24 and about the quality- so for a coverup or cute with flip-flops for summer. I’d like to get a few of the pool towels if I can still find them! Looking forward to seeing you soon! xo Kim

p.s. Love your new shoes and the clutch too!

    • Hi Kim, Your husband is a crack up! I guess the short one does look like a fishing vest just a bit. Maybe I should give the Marimekko line a second look because the store didn’t have a lot in stock. The black and white dress you found sounds adorable and right up my alley! The pool towels are great….such fun color combos! Thanks for the comment about the shoes and clutch….I’m loving both a lot! I think the shoes are similar to the ones you were wearing at the Trina event, which I loved, but were out of stock. See you next week. xo
