Fall fashion likes

It is finally beginning to feel like fall here in the Bay Area and I couldn’t be more excited!  I actually turned on the heat for the first time in six months last night.  Love the chill in the air, trees changing color (we have a few that change, but not many) and the leaves falling all over the neighborhood.  So Pretty.  My teens are starting to plan their Halloween outfits and I’m enjoying putting some fall touches on the porch and around the house.  Love this cozy time of year and I look forward to wearing sweaters, boots, and warm vests.

I like to throw on a vest for a more casual look or my other favorite choice for fall is a leather jacket for an easy and chic look for day or night.  You can never go wrong with a good leather jacket.  You really can’t.

I’m eyeing this Guess jacket for fall.  I like the clean lines and flattering fit.

Another classic black leather jacket.  Yes, they are pricey, but you will have it for years!

I talked about camo last fall and I’m still loving the look.

This piece is from Francesca’s and is priced right.

In love with this leather bucket bag from Madewell.  Currently 30% off!!

I love all three colors.

Fun suede fringe bag from Madewell.  This one is also 30% off!  LOVE!

And a suede cross body bag.  Perfect everyday bag or travel bag.  Also 30% off!

And the perfect evening bag if you don’t want to carry a full tote.

Another clutch I’m absolutely loving!!  I’m buying this chic little number right now!

Also 30% off from Madewell!

I’ve been in love with lace up shirts this year and I have collected quite a few over the last six months.  So happy to see they are still around for fall in some deeper shades.  The following silk lace up shirts are 30% at Madewell.  Like this olive color for fall.

Navy blue with stripes option.

Fun striped sweater option for cooler days.

Colorful red and blue flannel for fall.

Isn’t this darling ruffle sleeve cute?  Simple with a bit of fun from J Crew.

And it looks comfortable. And it is currently on sale.

Always nice to have a bit of leopard in your wardrobe.

You can’t go wrong with this classic piece from J Crew.

Cashmere with a feather fringe on the bottom.

I’m in love with this sweater from J Crew !

And it comes in blue. 😉

Liking this peasant top from Anthro.  Looks great with black jeans!

Boston Proper has a nice selection of dusters this season.  I think these dusters look great on tall frames, but if you are on the shorter side, you should still try this look – maybe with a heel.

What do you think?

A classic gray duster from Boston Proper.

A definite 70’s vibe with this one.

I’m liking these mid rise wide leg crop jeans from Anthropologie.

Mid rise cuffed cords from Anthro.  Great colors and a nice looking fit.

If you are a regular visitor to my blog then you know how much I love Articles of Society jeans from Nordstrom.  I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love these jeans!!  Sooo comfortable, flattering, and I love the dark olive color for fall!  I’m telling you, these jeans fit just as well, if not better in my opinion, as Paige, Sevens, and Rag and Bone.  And they are only $64 and my teens like them, too!  If you have to have a brand name, then you probably will not like these, but you should compare for fit. Seriously.

A fun pair of booties from Anthro.

Another favorite from Anthro and I love the side tassel.

And they come in three different colors.

Are you liking the oxford shoe trend this season?  There is certainly a lot to choose from if you do.  I thought these were cute and I love that they are slip ons.

So far these are some of my fall favorites.  What are you wearing this fall?  Have you found some new pieces this season that you are loving?

Thanks for stopping by!

April 🙂

  1. While shopping for clothes in Austin this past weekend, I was thinking of you and wondering if April would like:). Keep blogging as I enjoy reading each update!

  2. Yay! A fall fashion post, my favorite 😉 Funny I just pulled out a leather jacket I’ve had for years for a dinner party over the weekend – everyone thought it was new…and it is when I haven’t worn it in such a long time…leather trends up any outfit, doesn’t it? I’m still loving anything army green and camo – can’t believe that cute jacket find at Francescas! Wish I would have seen it before spending $$ on a similar designer brand one for one of our teens The Madewell fringe purses are so cute! Thanks for all the finds Ms. B and keep ’em comin’!! xo

    • Hey Bita, So glad you shopped your closet and re-discovered a fun leather jacket! A nice leather jacket never goes out of style. Glad you liked the post and got some new ideas! April xo

  3. Wow April! What a great round up of fun pieces! I love those long dusters (I have a long sweater problem!). And those booties and bags. And oh, how fabulous is that J Crew cashmere shell? What I’m loving this season? Booties (metallic, suede and printed styles), sweater dresses, long maxi cardigans and vests, bell sleeve on anything, sweater coats, leopard print and cropped frayed denim in black and grey. Oh and merlot mixed with black, grey or olive…

    • Hi Suzanne! I love your list! Yes, the bell sleeve is adorable and I love the frayed jeans and dusters. Lots of great looks this fall! Thank you so much for stopping by to say hi and for sharing your favorites of the season! xo

  4. April,
Great post! Like you I am so ready for sweater weather, fall leaves, pumpkins and cozy clothes. Love all your choices especially the clutches, the cords and the boots. I have to say I’ve been thinking of getting a pair of oxfords or brogues after visiting the MOMA and seeing all the cool San Francisco girls with them. So many cute things and I will check out those jeans you recommended too! x Kim

    • Hi Kim, Glad you liked the post! So many cute oxford styles out I think I’m going to have to get a pair. I think the last time I had a pair was in the early 90’s. I dressed for fall today but found myself sweating by noon. I guess we will have to wait until November for cooler temps! Hope to see you soon! April xo
