Oprah puts together a favorites list every year, I’m sure maybe you’ve heard about it? 😉 Well, I thought I would put together a list of my own favorite things. If you need some gift giving inspiration I hope some of my favorites give you a few ideas, either for yourself, or for somebody on your list.
My favorite mascara by San Francisco cosmetics company, Benefit. My lashes have never looked better.
My absolute favorite eye shadow palette. Urban Decay has several color palettes depending on the look you are going for….smoky eye, etc. And they have smaller palettes of six colors, called Naked Basics, in case you don’t need all of the colors they offer in their larger kits. If you have daughters or friends who love make up, this eye shadow palette is something they will absolutely love.
Bobbi Brown bronzing powder. Gives you a little summer glow with just a few strokes of the brush.
Love Burt’s Bees products. They add just enough color when not wearing lipstick or just enough shine over lipstick. Or…. great for that young lady who is just starting to wear a bit of makeup.
I’ve been wearing this fragrance for the last several years and I still love the fruity floral scent. They also carry a small travel size, which is perfect for your overnight case.
I absolutely fell in love with this Molton Brown Eucalyptus body wash that was featured at a hotel I stayed at last winter. The smell is so incredibly fresh and absolutely intoxicating!
Jo Malone products. I first heard about her beautiful products from Oprah about 8 years ago when she talked about Jo creating a special grapefruit fragrance for her. They have something for everyone and at every price point. Jo had me at her packaging, which is a gift in and of itself.
Munki Munki from Nordstrom.
Incredibly soft flannel, extremely comfortable, and adorable designs.
PJ Salvage from Nordstrom. Love their sweet dog designs. Twenty four designs to choose from making it easy to find something for someone on your list. I was just at Nordstrom the other day and noticed that they have a large display of these fun pj’s in a variety of fun prints right now!! Hurry before they are gone!
More PJ favorites from Old Navy. They have so many designs to choose from at an amazing price! I stock up on these every year. They were just recently 40% off bringing the price down to $10 a pair!!
Favorite Fashion Picks
My favorite pair of skinny jeans are by Lucky. They get a lot of use and are by far my favorite pair of jeans…..and I have a lot of jeans!
My teens love these black distressed jeans from Brass Plum at Nordstrom. I also happen to love this brand, Articles of Society, and find them to be extremely comfortable and flattering.
It’s no secret that I’m a huge Sam Edelman shoe fan. Love the fit, the price, and the look of his shoes always! His booties are my current fall favorite. Easy to slip on quickly and they always look stylish. The heel is the perfect height for everyday.
Don’t even get me started on his sandals, which I wear constantly in the summer time! Gigi is my favorite style and they are my go to all summer into late fall. I’ve walked many miles in these sandals and they never hurt my feet. I love the variety of colors this particular sandal comes in. My teens love them as well! If you have a warm winter trip planned, order these now!
Favorite white shirt by Banana Republic. Flattering, comfortable, and fits just right. Every gal needs a great fitting white shirt in her wardrobe.
I’m a huge fan of down vests and I wear them all winter long. I have many brands, but North Face vests are my favorite for comfort, warmth, and durability.
I love my black cashmere wrap by Halogen from Nordstrom. It looks elegant draped around the shoulders on a chilly evening and doubles as a blanket on long chilly flights. It feels just like a warm hug! Yes, it is expensive, but it is a piece you will have for a very long time and get a lot of use from. The one I have does not have the fringe as shown, but looks quite similar.
Favorite Exercise Gear & Wellness
I practically live in these Athleta 2 in1 skirt capri workout pants. So comfortable, flattering, easy to move around in when working out, and they cover up all the right places. And they have pockets for balls when playing tennis and a pocket for coffee money or a key.
I love long sleeve workout shirts that are soft and cozy, but are lightweight and easy to move around in. Lululemon carries a large variety and I’m sure somebody on your list, including yourself, would love one.
My other favorite workout shirt is from Nike. I have about a half dozen of these shirts and never tire of their soft and comfortable fit.
Balega Hidden Comfort socks, my absolute favorite sock ever !! Thick and cozy and so comfortable on the feet when working out or just wearing at home when it is chilly.
My husband and I have been receiving this fabulous health newsletter for years and we look forward to each informative issue. Perfect gift for someone who has everything or says they don’t want or need anything. Give the gift of healthy reading.
Favorite Home Things
I’ve been buying products from this Wisconsin based company since the early 1990’s. Making a visit to one of their stores just makes you want to run home and cook up something delicious. Their stores offer so much inspiration with recipes to go with a large number of their spices. You don’t have to buy a gift pack, they sell individual bottles as well. I have so many favorites, but here are a few that I go to over and over again.
Adobo and Jerk Chicken and Fish seasoning are just two of my favorites.
A simple white platter from Target. If you don’t have one, get one, or better yet, give one. Everybody could use one of these in their home. It just makes everything stand out!
Basic clear glass bottles from World Market. Simple and clean looking. I fill them up with water and set them on the table at dinner. Great for dinner parties…..fill up several and set them out for guests so they can help themselves.
I’m a really big fan of Barefoot Contessa and Giada and their cookbooks are always full of fabulous and delicious recipes with incredible photography. Giada has a new book out, which I’m anxious to pick up.
Uncommon Green carries a really fun line of city and state inspired slate platters and drinking glasses and more. Their unique items would make a great hostess gift or a great present for the person on your list who enjoys entertaining. Almost all major cities are represented in their collection.
I hope my list gives you some ideas for your holiday shopping this year or maybe a few ideas for yourself.
What are your favorite things to give?
Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. xo
